Quick answer. Same Wi-Fi, Cast icon in the app, pick the speaker/TV name. The Google Home app sees devices the phone cannot if permissions are off.

A phone on 5 GHz and a Cast dongle on 2.4 GHz guest Wi-Fi will never meet.

MarketPalace Guide Center writes this as a solution walkthrough — the order we would use if we were in the room with you. We name the next click, then what to do if that click fails. We do not sell the TV, the kettle, or the plane ticket.

If a menu name on your set or phone does not match, use the closest wording and email hello@marketpalace.shop. We correct live pages when the path has moved.

What you need

  • Google Home app
  • Same Wi-Fi

1. Confirm the Cast device in Google Home is on the same network as the phone

Guest Wi-Fi isolation is a common block.

2. Open YouTube or Chrome → Cast icon

Pick the TV.

3. If the TV is missing, reboot the dongle (unplug 10 seconds) and the phone's Wi-Fi

4. Use the Home app's reboot if the device is offline

If it still fails

  • Hotel Wi-Fi often blocks Cast. HDMI from the phone is the travel workaround if you have the adapter.

When you are done, browse more in Streaming & Accounts or search the Guide Center for the next job on your list. A neighbour problem — a remote, a bill, a suitcase — has its own walkthrough.
