Quick answer. Search the merchant name, call the number on the back of your card, ask for a dispute. Do not give the card number to the merchant's 'refund' caller.
A slightly misspelled shop name is often a real payment. A foreign ATM you do not remember is not.
MarketPalace Guide Center writes this as a solution walkthrough — the order we would use if we were in the room with you. We name the next click, then what to do if that click fails. We do not sell the TV, the kettle, or the plane ticket.
If a menu name on your set or phone does not match, use the closest wording and email hello@marketpalace.shop. We correct live pages when the path has moved.
What you need
- The statement
- The phone number printed on the card
In this guide
1. Google the merchant descriptor
It may be a holiday booking or an app store charge under a parent company.
2. If it is still wrong, use the bank app's 'dispute this transaction' or the number on the card
That number, not a sticker on a reader.
3. Write the date, amount, and why you say it is wrong
Keep screenshots.
4. Watch for a temporary credit
Ask how long the investigation takes.
If it still fails
- This is process, not legal advice. Your card scheme rules vary by country.
When you are done, browse more in Bills & Errands or search the Guide Center for the next job on your list. A neighbour problem — a remote, a bill, a suitcase — has its own walkthrough.
Common questions
Should I cancel the card?
If you think the number leaked, yes — through the official app.
