Quick answer. Live TV uses the TV caption menu. Netflix uses the speech-bubble in the player. They are two different switches.
TV captions do not control Netflix. The app has its own subtitle menu.
MarketPalace Guide Center writes this as a solution walkthrough — the order we would use if we were in the room with you. We name the next click, then what to do if that click fails. We do not sell the TV, the kettle, or the plane ticket.
If a menu name on your set or phone does not match, use the closest wording and email hello@marketpalace.shop. We correct live pages when the path has moved.
What you need
- Remote
In this guide
1. Live TV: Settings → Accessibility → Captions
Turn on. Pick CC1 or your language.
2. Streaming: open the player → speech bubble
Choose language. Check it is not Off.
3. Enlarge the font and add a black box
Thin white text on a window scene is unreadable.
4. If two subtitle rows appear, turn one source off
TV captions plus app subs stack.
If it still fails
- Some live sports have no captions. That is the broadcaster.
When you are done, browse more in TV & Living Room or search the Guide Center for the next job on your list. A neighbour problem — a remote, a bill, a suitcase — has its own walkthrough.
Common questions
Can they default on?
Yes on the TV. Apps may still need one toggle.
