Quick answer. Find the centre, measure down from the wire, use a level, two hooks for wide frames.

One nail in a guess puts every frame on a slope.

MarketPalace Guide Center writes this as a solution walkthrough — the order we would use if we were in the room with you. We name the next click, then what to do if that click fails. We do not sell the TV, the kettle, or the plane ticket.

If a menu name on your set or phone does not match, use the closest wording and email hello@marketpalace.shop. We correct live pages when the path has moved.

What you need

  • Tape measure
  • Pencil
  • Level
  • Picture hook

1. Measure the wall and mark the centre height you want

A bit of painter's tape holds the mark.

2. Pull the wire tight and measure from the top of the frame to the wire

That is how far below your mark the hook goes.

3. Use two hooks on wide frames

They stop the tilt.

4. Check with a level and adjust

Live with it at eye height, not ceiling height, for most rooms.

If it still fails

  • Know what is in the wall. A stud finder helps for heavy mirrors.

When you are done, browse more in Home & Fixes or search the Guide Center for the next job on your list. A neighbour problem — a remote, a bill, a suitcase — has its own walkthrough.
